Snappy (Legacy)
Teledyne e2v's Snappy family of CMOS image sensors are designed for easy barcode scanning. Providing excellent low-light SNR with global shutter pixels, these sensors enable accurate scanning even in challenging conditions. Snappy sensors are embedded with proprietary features to quickly detect and read 1D or 2D barcodes. These sensors are available in resolutions up to 5M, and have a compact and power efficient design to enable optimized scanning or logistics systems.
Optimized for Fast and Accurate Scanning
From pixel performance, to integrated real-time features; every aspect of Teledyne e2v’s Snappy™ CMOS image sensors has been optimized to enable fast and accurate scanning of 1D and 2D barcodes. This enables scanning end products to offer enhanced productivity and throughput in logistics, sorting, retail POS, and many other associated verticals. The sensors are available in 2 or 5 Megapixels in both monochrome and color. They have a small 1/1.8-inch optical format, containing a 2.8µm, low-noise, global shutter pixel and several embedded features.
One Shot Exposure
Our patented Self Fast Exposure mode assures that the first image frame is correctly exposed to enable the fastest possible identification and decoding by the image processing system, even in rapidly changing light conditions.
Smart ROI
A Smart ROI feature also searches for barcodes in the image frame and reports their locations as metadata in the image footer. The regions of the image containing barcodes are discerned from the background image to considerably reduce downstream image processing (FPGA/CPU/DSP) power, time and cost.
