The NIRvana family of products have led to advances in many applications including astronomy, life sciences, and semiconductor fabrication. Investment in nanotechnology, including quantum dots and carbon nanotubes, is driving the requirement for user-friendly, high-performance cameras. The NIRvanna SWIR portfolio is suited for life science, in-vivo imaging and the associated requirements for higher performance NIR-II probes ideal for both end-user and OEM integration.

SWIR for Science
Key Features
The NIRvana® HS InGaAs focal plane array (FPA) SWIR camera is your versatile scientific imaging solution, delivering both high speed imaging and up to 60+ second exposure times. The NIRvana® HS also has the following key features:
- 900 – 1700nm SWIR / NIR-II
- Low Dark Current (<500e-)
- Image Quality Optimised
- 250fps at Full 640×512 Resolution
Deep Cooling That Lasts
Weak signals require a long exposure time to integrate. The primary challenge to low light imaging for SWIR cameras is exposure-time-dependent dark current noise. This can be reduced with camera cooling. However, some cameras on the market can only sustain their advertised cooling temperatures for a few minutes.
Though our industry-leading cooling and hermetic seal vacuum technology, the NIRvana® HS can sustain its -55°C sensor temperature over many hours. Combined with our lifetime guaranteed, zero maintenance vacuum, our cooling technology provides the reliability to keep your experiments running. Read our Technical Note on Thermal Management here.
Excellent Temporal Resolution
Capture high-speed events with incredible detail thanks to the 250fps full sensor frame rate, and 2 microsecond minimum exposure time. Combined with ultra-high precision hardware triggering, the NIRvana® HS is an excellent choice for semiconductor and photovoltaic failure analysis, and other high-speed applications.
Higher Image Quality InGaAs
Achieving the high image quality that scientific applications demand has historically been a challenge for InGaAs sensor technology. With the NIRvana® HS, non-uniformity corrections and advanced pixel correction algorithms provide unparalleled image quality out of the box.
Minimize Scene Noise
SWIR photons are everywhere. A significant source of unwanted noise in SWIR imaging is infrared photons from around the sample. The NIRvana HS features a proprietary cold shield, which blocks photons you don’t want, improving image quality.
The new InGaAs focal plane array detector has allowed our research group to easily extend our imaging spectroscopy techniques into the near-infrared regime. Combining a NIRvana with an eXcelon ProEM camera has enabled us to rapidly acquire 2D images from 400nm-1700nm on the same SP2300i spectrograph. Unlike other InGaAs 2D detectors we tested, the TE cooling and background subtraction features have allowed us to easily acquire long exposures to resolve photoluminescence from very dilute emitter samples.
