High Speed, Large Sensor sCMOS

Kinetix

The groundbreaking Kinetix Family are back-illuminated sCMOS cameras that deliver the fastest speeds across the largest fields of view, all at near-perfect 96% quantum efficiency and sub-electron read noise. All this and more make the Kinetix Family the ultimate solution for scientific imaging.

Ultimate Flexibility

Kinetix Family cameras feature four imaging modes, allowing users to modify different camera specifications, optimize imaging, and avoid compromise.

The 8-bit Speed mode offers 500 fps across the full frame, 12-bit Sensitivity mode offers low 1.2 e- read noise while operating at ~90 fps, 16-bit Dynamic range has large full well capacity for varied signal levels in the sample, and 16-bit Sub-Electron mode offers EMCCD-like sensitivity with 0.7 e- read noise.

Extreme Speed

Taking advantage of an 8-bit readout mode, the Kinetix Family deliver a tremendous 498 fps from across the full 29.4 mm diagonal field of view.

The optimized line time allows the speed to significantly outperform typical sCMOS devices, with the Kinetix delivering >5000 megapixels/second – over a 10-fold improvement.

High Sensitivity

The Kinetix Family are back-illuminated sCMOS cameras, achieving near-perfect 95% QE at peak. By bringing the light in from the back of the sensor, photons land directly onto the light receiving surface, maximizing light collecting capability.

By combining near-perfect QE with sub-electron read noise (0.7 e-), Kinetix cameras deliver high-contrast images even at the lowest signal levels.

High Resolution

The Kinetix Family features 6.5 µm x 6.5 µm pixels, the accepted standard for most live cell applications using 40x and 60x magnification.

This pixel size provides highly detailed images across the imaging plane and is most suitable for the broadest range of microscope objectives.

Superior Background Quality

Thanks to Pattern Noise Reduction Technology and Correlated Noise Reduction Technology, Kinetix cameras deliver clean, pattern-free images with minimal pixel defects, delivering improved image quality in low light conditions.
